Location
Whitchurch is particularly sought after, partially owing to its Church of England Primary School which is graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. In addition, a popular community-spirited village shop, Woods of Whitchurch also operates as a coffee shop and takeaway. Whitchurch also includes a village hall, a reputable MOT centre, the highly commended Old Court Hotel, a post box and a bus stop.
It is also worth noting that several delightful riverside pubs and restaurants - in the neighbouring setting of Symonds Yat - are within walking distance. This spot is in the centre of the Wye Valley AONB and is therefore famed for its spectacular scenery, woodland expanses, limestone cliffs and views over the River Wye. Many delightful walking and cycle routes lead throughout the area and, for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, various companies offer a wide range of activities such as canoe hire, rock climbing and caving.
The village is centred between the popular market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, both of which offer highly regarded secondary schools, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, leisure facilities and independently owned shops.
A series of major road networks are also easily accessible; the A40 is nearby and the eastbound road provides a direct route to Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Meanwhile, motorists heading in the opposite direction can journey towards the M4 at Newport, giving access to Cardiff and London. The M50 motorway begins in Ross-on-Wye, around eight miles away, which gives good access to the M5.
The home at a glance
Willow End is tucked away behind a set of double gates and the gardens are fully enclosed. There is a generously sized driveway - which is large enough to accommodate a motor home alongside several other vehicles - and a detached garage which is equipped with lighting inside and out. A lawn wraps around the property and there are a variety of fruit trees, a sun terrace, well-stocked flower beds, and a willow tree.
Inside, the heart of the home is a beautifully bright open-plan living space. Within this expanse, the user-friendly kitchen includes modern integrated appliances, such as a Siemens double oven, a Siemens induction hob, an Elica angled extractor fan, a Bosch microwave, a Bosch dishwasher, a large Bosch fridge and a Bosch under-counter freezer. In addition, there is plenty of pull-out storage and the elegant dove grey units are complimented by quartz worktops. A tiled wood-effect floor flows throughout the space, and this matches a large larder which is complete with power points and a spice rack. Additional storage - including a wine rack - is fitted around the chimney breast which also houses an inset log burner. A set of aluminium bifold doors lead out to a glass-framed deck which grants a particularly good spot to watch the rising sun.
Of the three bedrooms, all are large enough to accommodate double beds. Of these, the master includes fitted Hammond's wardrobes - complete with two mirrored doors - and a fitted chest of drawers.
The bathroom, which includes underfloor heating and stylish pink brick-bond tiling, bears a slipper bath, a step-in shower, a heated towel rail, a WC with sensor flush and a countertop vanity unit.
The utility room - which carries a hardwearing Mandarin Stone tile floor - offers space and plumbing for both a washing machine and a tumble dryer and includes two sets of stable doors - one set leads into the open-plan space, the other serves as the main entrance into the home.
